ResponsiveEd®, a non-profit company that operates more than 75 tuition-free public schools throughout Texas and Arkansas, recently hosted the first annual Houston Area Educator Job Fair. The purpose was to attract highly qualified candidates to fill campus positions at the 13 Houston area schools. Close to 200 eager educators intent on working within the ResponsiveEd family of schools attended the event. The event took place at Fallbrook Academy in North Houston on Walters Road. This was a unique opportunity to showcase the campus and highlight what it’s like to work within a public charter school district. Each campus had either its campus director or a representative from the school on-hand to discuss opportunities and speak with candidates about the unique cultures and student populations they serve. One campus in particular, Willis Classical Academy, made five job offers to qualified candidates on the spot.

ResponsiveEd participates in close to 20 career events during a typical hiring season, which runs February through July. As the district continues it’s grassroots brand awareness initiatives, the recruiting team looks forward to holding similar career fairs in the future after seeing the tremendous participation and support from the Houston community. The team envisions conducting career fairs throughout the state in areas such as Dallas/Ft. Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Rio Grande Valley communities in the coming years.
